On Tarot Journaling

Tarot Journaling is a wonderful way to learn more and connect to the meanings behind Tarot in general.
This can be done by drawing one card, writing key words or a blurb with the “official” meaning, and then spending a few minutes writing about what it means to you, what things stand out and what impressions you get from the card. You can do this early in the day and come back to it later to see how it applied to your day, or you can do the draw the night before, do some writing, then come finish it up the following evening before you draw your card for the next day. This is an interesting way to get to know Tarot and develop your own intuitive understanding of the cards.
While one-card draws are more than adequate for this, my preference is a three-card draw. Not only do you get to know each card individually but also how they interact with one another and how they function within a thread. I will attach a file with all the information on what spread you can use for this.
I actually do this daily. I got a deck a while ago and set it aside because I wasn’t really feeling it. I decided this month on a whim it would be the deck I would journal with. And I find myself pleasantly surprised by this deck, the way it has been reading, and how I am connecting to it.

The Medium
The Journal itself can be whatever you would like to use. I use space in a journal I am already using for my daily practice, drawing in a section squares for the cards and whatnot.

If y wantng to  are prone to writing a lot, having a stand-alone journal for this practice would be ideal.
You can also utilize note-taking or journal apps as well, creating a format for your practice. Look at what is best for your style of writing as well as what is most user friendly for you.
The key to all of this is crafting a daily Tarot practice that allows you to utilize the skills you are learning. As humans, we retain more information when we utilize it in a practical way. Journaling, reading cards for others, and other Tarot practices will aid in information retention, as well as hone your other divination skills, like your intuition. Practice in whatever manner you choose will make you a better rounded, more competent, more confident reader.
